jwar - Keep On Tryin’

Here is the latest instrumental I worked on.

Recently, I’ve given some thought to what direction I would like to take as a music producer. Although I really enjoy producing in the hip-hop group I’m currently in, it may prove beneficial to explore and train in new genres. It would help me grow creatively and keep me interested. Ideally, I would like to produce an album with several artists/songwriters similar to how Danger Mouse and Mark Ronson do it.

The first collaborations will probably be with people I will find through Youtube. I’m not quite sure on how it will work - we’ll probably be sending material back and forth via email. Does anyone have advice on collaborating over the internet?

Another question. How do you prevent creeps from stealing your music when posting online?

jwar - Easier Way

Here’s one I made a while back when I was still in my dark room in Boston. I haven’t made a beat in a while - I’m on a beat block right now but I don’t feel too bad about it. Gotta keep it moving.

FLOWFORCE3 - Lights Bright (Mix 1.0)

just spent 5 hours straight mixing this. my ears hurt..

I should give a formal introduction - FLOWFORCE3 is the band I’m in with my two buddies from high school. I produce the beats, like this one, along with Law and John raps and also writes vocal melodies.

We released our first album Now Go in 2008 and an ep TMINUS the following year. I’d like to think of those two releases as practice as we were developing/improving our style. The beats on Now Go were my very first ones while I was learning to use Logic Studio.

This song and Utopia will be on our next album, which is due indefinitely. I still have a bunch to mixed. We’re constantly writing new stuff so there’s also a handful yet to be recorded. After graduating this semester I’d like to dedicate most of my time to music.

I like where our new stuff is going. Believe me, we’re putting in a lot of time and energy (possibly even some money for pro mastering) to make our shit sound dapper!

Hope you like what you hear!
Go ahead and reblog this if you dig it. Much appreciated :)

Here’s another beat I neglected for a while. Started this in May and worked on it this week. I like this one. Enjoy!
